Easy to work with, and use.

This stuff has quickly turned into my favorite product for adding quick texture and filling small gaps. It doesn't smell the best, but is way less harsh than thinned down putty in my opinion. I tend to stipple it on and it self levels enough to make a nice texture that doesn't have to be sanded back like an application of putty. Only con is the smell, so just be safe and work in a well ventilated area/wear a respirator if you're going to be using this for a bit.

Mr. Surfacer 500 can be a bit confusing to some people because they want to use it as a standard primer, but I think you're far better off with the other higher number Mr. Surfacers for that. With that being said, the 500 is perfect if you ever build any resin kits with uneven surfaces, small bubbles, or other areas that need to be cleaned up. It's a very workable surfacer, so you can lay it down, sand it, and then keep returning to working with it like a modeling tool versus a paint/primer.

Good for filling in larger gaps, and seam lines.
