Support

The M42 Duster was an American self-propelled anti-aircraft gun developed in the early 1950s to provide mobile air defense for armored and mechanized formations. Using automotive components derived from the M41 Walker Bulldog light tank, it combined a tracked chassis with an open-topped turret armed with two 40mm Bofors automatic cannons, entering U.S. Army service in 1953 as a replacement for the M19 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage.

Though designed to counter low-flying aircraft, the M42 proved especially effective in ground-support roles. During the Vietnam War, American forces used the Duster for convoy protection, perimeter defense, and direct fire support, with its rapid-firing cannons providing heavy firepower against infantry and fortified positions. The vehicle also served with allied forces including the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and the West German Bundeswehr before being gradually replaced by radar-directed and missile-based air defense systems.

Tamiya's Military Miniature Series, established in 1968, covers 1/35 scale tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, and military figures spanning World War II through contemporary conflicts. The series mixes newly engineered kits with reissues of classic subjects, and its standardized scale lets builders combine vehicles, figures, and accessories across historical collections and diorama projects.

      </details>

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0727/8355/files/4950344964437_7b0f45d40a694f686e2dab281803cfd7__03488.webp?v=1791903055
