I had an absolute blast building and playing with this kit. This is the type of model that justifies the RE 100 line of kits instead of just making everything a mastergrade. To this day I'm still posing and messing with this model while deciding on paints for my Alex MG. It's solid and sturdy with plenty of color parts separation and some great articulation on top of one of the better heat hawks provided in a kit so far. I look forward to assembling more RE 100 series if they keep up this level of quality. It does not come with a Bernie figure but if you watched 0080 you were probably planning on getting the mg 2.0 alex mg with this anyways which it does come with.
0080: War in the Pocket was an underrated chapter of what the world was like in the One Year War, told not through anything resembling a reliable narrator, but through the eyes of a child. The Zaku II Kai was rebuilt over the story with the mission always being a Hail Mary attempt at stopping the production of the first (and most extreme) NewType-1 Gundam “Alex”. In the end, no one wins. Well, except me of course. Building this kit was a blast, and I’m trying my best to do it justice for the detail that was actually put into the Master Grade quality model. The Last Zaku, done right. Cheers.
I’ve been on the fence on buying this. After seeing “0080”, it became a must. For the price, you’re getting a lot of value in the sense of detail and features. It is a solid build. Features/armaments: heat hawk with back storage and 2 handles (one for store, one for hold. If you’re feeling creative, there’s an extra blade you can paint orange), 4x grenades with 4x belt adapters and 2x hand adapters (belt storage accommodates 3x), 3x alternate helmet display options, gun with 2x magazines (extra is can be stored in hidden belt compartment), posable eye, rubber hoses, 2x pairs of hands (L/R open handed fists, R trigger hand, and gun support hand.
