Within the intricate domain of custom Gundam model crafting, the pillars of quality reside in originality and imagination. Renowned for his distinctive approach, modeler GundamerPatX has once more pushed the boundaries of customization with his latest masterpiece, the MSM-03 [ADV] Gogg [Advanced] - Unit 04.
This ambitious project commenced when an unintentional numbering error occurred in GundamerPatX's Zeon collection. Faced with the challenge of requiring an eighth unit in a series initially planned for seven without resorting to repainting existing models, GundamerPatX seized the opportunity to spotlight an often-overlooked kit—the Gogg. This presented a chance to infuse individuality into a simplistic design, demanding the most extensive effort he had ever invested in a custom construction.
The focal point of this custom endeavor, the MG Gogg, materialized through an extensive process of kitbashing, involving the amalgamation of components from various models such as PG Strike Gundam, MG Sazabi, Judge Fighter, HGUC Full Armor Unicorn, and Kotobukiya MSG Giant Hands.
A prominent transformation was the conversion of PG Strike Gundam's legs into robust arms for the Gogg, necessitating meticulous re-engineering of the Gogg's internal structure to bear the added weight and redefine its aesthetic. The noticeable augmentation of massive arms prompted subsequent adjustments to ensure the overall design achieved coherence.
This project attests to GundamerPatX's technical prowess in model customization. Integrating the MG Sazabi's legs with the MG Gogg's frame proved challenging, requiring precision adjustments, part re-engineering, and strategic application of super glue. The model's details and texture were enhanced through bespoke panel lines and scratch-built components.
The use of Plaplate (plastic plate) materials, combined with scribing techniques, contributed fine lines and intricate details to the model's surface. The Gogg's distinct color scheme was achieved through custom paint applications after airbrushing the entire model, resulting in a refined, seamless finish.
The final product stands as a testament to GundamerPatX's skill and dedication to the craft. The MSM-03 [ADV] Gogg [Advanced] - Unit 04 is a masterpiece that reflects the modeler's passion for transforming ordinary kits into extraordinary pieces of art. With its imposing size and captivating style, the model exudes a blend of elegance and power.
